Reflexive Pronouns

Reflexive pronouns refer back to a person or a thing. They include myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves. We often use reflexive pronouns when the subject and the object of a verb are the same.

We use reflexive pronouns to emphasize that someone does something personally, not anyone else.

I cut myself.

You cut yourself.

He cut himself.

She cut herself.

It cut itself.

We have to clarify it ourselves.

You have to clarify it yourselves.

They have to clarify themselves.
