HOW TO LEARN ENGLISH FAST?
I think the most important issue here is having realistic expectations as well as knowing exactly what you want. Assuming that one wants to improve quickly, it is vital to simplify the learning process as much as possible. How to do it? I would try to learn basic words and phrases. It also means word combinations and collocations. There are vocabulary lists that correspond to every level in English (A1 – C2) that might be useful. You will probably have to translate these words into your native language. Another crucial thing is getting to know the basic grammar concepts and in my opinion, they include basic tenses (present simple, present continuous, past simple, past continuous, future simple, going to, present perfect simple), articles, sentence structure, adjectives, adverbs, and nouns. The last three can be found on the vocabulary lists. Verbs are a bit more complicated as we have regular and irregular verbs in English. So this will take some time to master. There are plenty of grammar books that have hundreds of exercises on the said topics. It is a matter of practice.
If you feel you can devote yourself more, doing a coursebook on a low level could be a good idea. Without a teacher, it might be an overwhelming task to do though. Don’t be hard on yourself. Learning is rarely a smooth process so be gentle with yourself.
Once you have some basics, the most difficult part comes along. You have to start using all the things you have learned. Use all the resources available, physical and online. Reading, writing, listening, and speaking are vital to building the foundation you want. Read as many things as you can on your level. If it is too easy don’t reach for the stars, just take it a notch higher. Write sentences or short paragraphs about your life or anything. Invent a character and write every day about their life if you feel your life is boring and you have nothing to write about. A few sentences every day will do! Listen to everything that is on your level or a bit more difficult. Speak to yourself in the privacy of your room about anything. It is a great method to get you talking. Imagine you have to speak without an interruption for a minute and then for two etc. Get a speaking partner! A lot of people want to practice English and doing it over the Internet could be a solution. The most important thing is to be flexible, use your imagination, and have fun with it. Don’t take it too seriously because you will get analysis paralysis. Once you are stuck, it is hard to get unstuck.
Last but not least! I cannot stress this enough! Make a plan and be CONSISTENT!!!! Do a bit of something every day. Routine is your key! Don’t use a million different resources, a few will be enough. It is a matter of consistency!
